I have been aware of the amazing customizing work of Southern Drawl for a long time. I just nicked a bunch of flix of his work to show it here. "Recently i had been invited this week to speak at a school in art classes. Not at the Bauhaus University but in a very smart elementary school. Showing the kids some of my graffiti works, speaking about vinyl toys and answering them all their questions. Also doing some live drawing for them on a canvas for their class room. The kids were super excited about having me there. I guess back in the days when i was their age i would have been blasted too to see some modern arts instead of some old farts.
I then also asked them to join in to draw on a paper with my Teddy Trooper shape lines and bring in their phantasy and skills.
Here are all the funky results (in no particular order).

I made another custom 10" Teddy Trooper for my show at the TOYKIO gallery. Like mostly everybody else my age grew up with the Star Wars movies and maybe more important: the Star Wars Kenner toys. I had been thinking for a long while which of the classic SW characters i could pick. Some of them are obviously fitting on the teddy and helmet.... Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Boba Fett, Biker Scout, Deth Star Gunner.... etc. Most of them have been remixed a hundred times. Somehow at the end i came up with the lamest and uncoolest character of the whole universe: Admiral Ackbar. And the Kenner's Ackbar toy figure even came with the most useless weapon of all time. A stick. "Hey! Look at my new stormtrooper figures i just got! Those big blaster they have! They can shoot down everything. What have you got?" - "Admiral Ackbar! He can destroy the Death Star! With this... äh,... stick... thing." (To not offend Ackbar's dignity any further i haven't given him a stick... thing.)

My friend Muffinman - creator of the "From Bronko With Love" / "The Magnificent Ambrose And His Amazing Flying Headgear From Hell" and "Tag Team Partners" Teddy Troopers - just sent me these shots of his latest custom 3" Trooper. It is called "GOTH - Guardian Of The Hog". This time with a new bushy hair style... That little punk just made my day!

The TURMKUNST project in Berlin has just finished and now the biggest Teddy Trooper mask on the tower is watching all over the Berlin skyline. Size? 3"? 10"? No, it is 160ft (50 meters) high. Massive! The artists HONET, SOZYONE, Craig KR Costello aka KRINK and FLYING FÖRTRESS spent more than 6 weeks to turn the infamous "Bierpinsel" tower into this huge artwork.  More photos on Flying Förtress' blog.

Timself who hooked me up on the "Most Wanted Messageboard Artist Series 1" (which was a customized Dunny fan series) dropped me this little gift in return. Thanx a lot for those friendly dentures! :-)

After bringing you the "Red Shadow" and the "650° Hitzerot" customized Teddy Troops i just emptied my last little red acrylics to drop you "Der Rote Baron" aka "The Red Baron" (wikipedia) - the German aerial battle legend from WWI. Even if it features those strong red-white-black colours and German air force insignias this one has nothing to do with Third Reich or shit. So don't take me wrong! Now that all my red paint has gone i think for my next customized Teddy Trooper i'll have to give a zombie-SS-officer a rainbow-coloured armlet instead...

This idea had been sticking to my head for a very long time. For 15 years i have this left over (almost) full spray can standing in front of me on my desk. It has been the BEST EVER red colour spray paint. Ever! "Hitzerot" aka "The Red Gold". For those who know... Heavy covering power - heavy toxic impact. So this customized 10" Teddy Trooper is my tribute to it and a whole era of writing on steel back in the days.

For their show in Rennes/FR Förtress did this custom 10" Teddy Trooper together with his friend MIST. It is available at the Delkoraphik Gallery&Store.

Next stop for the Mist X Förtress show will be the Delkographik Studios in Rennes/FR. Opening: November 28th. Until January 6th 2010.

Due to the release of the Teddy Troops Series 03 we set up a little show at the Woolwill Shop & Gallery in St.Pauli / Hamburg, Germany. There will be all released 3" and 10" Troopers on display. Also we have some original customized Troopers by Buff Monster, Parskid, James Yeah?, Miss Stephanie, Purple Pace and Förtress. And a few secret scraps...
